Chauhan officially earned the title of "World's Longest Mustache" from Guinness World Records in March, 2010. He admits keeping it looking lush is not easy.

“Growing a mustache is like taking care of a baby -- you really need to nurture it," he said, according to the Mirror. “The mustache is the symbol of pride and respect. In ancient India, a mustache meant everything. It is priceless. It’s a man thing.”

However, his wife, Asha, needed some time to get used to the mammoth mustache.

"He used to take a long time to get ready, to wash and also people used to stare at him," she told the BBC.

Things changed after he started getting recognized for the momentous 'mo. Now she considers it a part of the family.

Chauhan's mustache isn't just about vanity. His hairy profile earned him a job for the Rajasthan tourism department for over 30 years. As part of his duties, he would show off the mustache at tourist destinations.

In the process, his mustache has also helped world peace.

“I have even done a show on the India-Pakistan border. It was like reuniting both sides,” he said, according to the paper.
